Towne Lake Introduces Trendmaker Homes

This month the renowned Trendmaker Homes is making its debut in Caldwell Companies’ 2,400-acre custom-designed Towne Lake community in the heart of Cy-Fair.

Not only will Trendmaker be constructing its first model home in Towne Lake, but that home will be part of the builder’s ground-breaking “Living View Series.” This innovative new design concept features wide, elegant homes with expansive backyards and a keen eye toward family living.

“We are delighted with what is happening at Towne Lake,” said Will Holder, Trendmaker Homes President. “The community offers amenities not found anywhere else in Houston. Our Living View Series homes will fit right into what people are looking for in Towne Lake.”

Towne Lake is emerging into the premier master-planned community in Northwest Houston. A spectacular 300-acre lake will be the centerpiece of the community once completed, and Towne Lake will be the only community in Houston connected by water.

“We are excited about the introduction of Trendmaker Homes and their Living View Series of homes into the Towne Lake community,” said Randy Young, Caldwell Companies’ director of operations and land development. “Not only is the new, exclusively-Trendmaker section the first section to open on the north shore of the lake, it will offer Trendmaker’s innovative ‘Wide-Shallow’ product, which, as the name implies, is wider than it is deep in order to create more view opportunities out of the front and back of the house.”

Young said the Wide-Shallow product offers homebuyers an alternative to the “traditional” home – a home with more depth than width - when making buying decisions.

“Trendmaker has a great reputation in Houston,” said Peter Barnhart, Caldwell Companies’ vice president of development. “They have great elevations, floorplans and attention to detail. This is an excellent addition to our product mix.”

A cast of highly-reputable builders have constructed a wide variety of home styles and sizes in Towne Lake’s family-oriented neighborhoods, and have exciting plans on the drawing board. Trendmaker is part of that distinguished list, which includes David Weekley Homes, Coventry Homes, Village Builders, and K. Hovnanian’s Four Seasons.

Holder said homes in the Living View Series will feature and variety of plans and many appealing advantages.

The wide design allows placement of the majority of windows on the front and back of the home.

“As Houston evolved over the years into a narrow-lot market, this caused most of the homes' window to be placed on the side of the home creating ‘utility views’ of next-door neighbors' homes and fences,” Holder said. “The Living View Series remakes the home into a wider home with big, elegant elevations that create great street scenes. The homes look much more expensive than they actually are.”

“As soon as you walk into a Living View Series home you can see the difference,” he said. “The amount of natural light coming into the homes is shocking.”

This series of homes also features large, wide backyards, Holder said.

“The yard lives from left to right, unlike deeper lots where you can see every toy, every swing set or trampoline from the family room window,” Holder said. “The Living View Series homes allow the families to put the swing set off to the side, which creates a great view from the family room.”

Holder said the homes are designed for families, and about 3,500 square feet on average. The plans vary, with one in particular featuring an amazing and unique master bedroom upstairs and a guest room on the first floor.

“Trendmaker has an outstanding reputation for aesthetic appeal, outstanding quality in craftsmanship, and attention to customer satisfaction,” Young said. “It is these benchmark qualities that Caldwell Companies not only looks for in a builder, but also apply to ourselves.”

Towne Lake has a multi-generational appeal with neighborhoods designed for families of all ages; and an active adult community – The Heritage at Towne Lake – for individuals and families aged 55 years and older who want to enjoy the luxury of a resort-style community with outstanding services, amenities and planned activities.

When fully built out, Towne Lake will have approximately 3,000 “Hill Country-inspired” single-family homes – many waterfront properties - ranging from the $200,000’s to multi-million-dollar properties. A 180-acre “Town Center” front U.S. 290 and will feature Class A office space and retail establishments. A specialty student housing development near the Lone Star College–CyFair campus it borders is under construction and will be ready for leasing in July. There will also be a community retail shopping and a myriad of waterfront restaurants on Barker-Cypress, as well as a community amphitheatre that seats 5,000-6,000.

In the heart of the community will be a marina and an additional community center with a competition pool, lagoon pool and lazy river. There will be numerous parks and hiking and biking trails spread throughout Towne Lake, and “old-fashioned” fishing holes sprinkled throughout the community.

The first 75-acre section of the lake has been completed, and boasts about two miles of shoreline, is 10-feet deep and is located between Tuckerton and West roads on the south end of the Towne Lake community. The second 75-acre section is under construction.

The Towne Lake community’s Welcome Center is located at 9214 W. Bridgeport Pass Circle.
