About 5,000 revelers converged on the shores of Towne Lake for Caldwell Companies’ 2nd Annual July 4th celebration.
The attendance was almost five times the number of people who came out last year to the inaugural July 4 lakeside celebration in the master-planned community at Barker-Cypress and West roads in northwest Harris County.
“We were amazed and grateful to see so many come out and enjoy the evening,” said Susan Caldwell with Caldwell Cos. “It was wonderful to see families and friends enjoying themselves, and to see the vision of Towne Lake come to life with boat rides offered by Bass Pro Shop of Katy, water skiers enjoying the recreational lake and people watching the fireworks show over the water.”
“We are a community connected by water and that vision came to life during the evening of our nation’s birthday,” Caldwell said. “The community is beginning to see the wonderful lifestyle and amenities offered in Towne Lake.”
The celebration started at 7:30 p.m. with food and refreshments provided by the Backyard Grill, On-The-Border restaurant, Cypress Kettle Corn, Blue Bell Ice Cream, and Jason’s Deli; and a Family Fun Zone featuring inflatables, a rock wall, large slide, and train.
Children enjoyed the face painters and balloon artists, and kids of all ages watched water skiers pulled behind boats donated by Bass Pro Shop – Katy, Texas.
The crowd was treated to a performance of High School Musical 2 by Houston’s Center Stage Theater. The show is currently playing at Lone Star College-CyFair.
The Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department’s staged a truck demonstration. Firefighters also relayed important fireworks safety tips.
Osmin and Meblin Martinez, and their children, Christian and Mercy, were the lucky winners of an ice chest filled with items suited for water sports and fun. The donation, valued at $100, was courtesy of Towne Lake and Bass Pro Shop-Katy, Texas.
As the evening fell, the skies over Towne Lake provided the background for a brilliant fireworks display.
“We believe Towne Lake represents what is best about our country and the State of Texas – a true sense of identity and community,” said Caldwell Cos. President Fred Caldwell. “Celebrating the 4th of July reflects Towne Lake’s desire to honor our country and the very freedoms we enjoy each day.”
Event sponsors included Coventry Homes, David Weekley Homes, K. Hovnanian’s Four Seasons, Trendmaker Homes, Village Builders, Bass Pro Shop – Katy, Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center, Cy-Fair Magazine, the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce, Friendswood Development Company, Waste Management, Jason’s Deli, Cy-Fair Credit Union, Ace Hardware, StarTex Title, Cypress Kettle Corn, Fairway Golf Cart, Blue Bell Ice Cream, Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department, Backyard Grill, and On-the-Border.
The company’s commitment to bringing families and neighbors together at Towne Lake is part of the reason it is emerging into the premier master-planned community in Northwest Houston. The 2,400-acre custom-designed community offers homebuyers the area’s best location, value and style; and when completed will be renowned for its Towne Lake Charm, or "TLC," that sets the community apart.
Towne Lake has a multi-generational appeal with neighborhoods designed for all families ; and an active adult community – The Heritage at Towne Lake – for individuals and families aged 55 years and better who want to enjoy the luxury of a resort-style community with outstanding services, amenities and planned activities.
When fully built out, the 2,400-acre Towne Lake master-planned community will have several sections of “Hill Country-inspired” single-family homes – many waterfront properties - ranging from the $180,000’s to multi-million-dollar properties.
A 180-acre “Town Center” will front U.S. 290 and will feature Class A office space and retail establishments. There will also be a community retail shopping and a myriad of waterfront restaurants on Barker-Cypress, as well as a community amphitheater.
There will be numerous parks and hiking and biking trails spread throughout Towne Lake, and “old-fashioned” fishing holes sprinkled throughout the community.
This beautiful and unique community will be built around a 300-acre lake that will serve as the heart of the community.
The first 75-acre section of the lake has been completed, and boasts about two miles of shoreline, and is located between Tuckerton and West roads on the south end of the Towne Lake community. The second 75-acre lake section is under construction.
