The two lakes near the Welcome Center have been stocked with bait fish in preparation for the delivery and stocking of black bass in the early fall.
Thousands of minnows and other bait fish were distributed and will be given time to flourish prior to the introduction of bass. All the lakes within the community feature sub-surface habitat structures and specially selected aquatic plants to provide an ideal environment for bait fish and an attraction for game fish species such as Florida hybrid largemouth bass and channel catfish.
Once the black bass have arrived, the small lakes — designed to resemble old-fashioned fishing holes — will feature catch-and-release fishing, as will the main lake when completed.

Towne Lake Aquatic Habitat Improvements
Through our continuing efforts to make Towne Lake the most successful private waterfront community in Texas, we have taken great strides to provide state of the art lake habitat improvements. These efforts will help ensure the health, beauty and functionality of Towne Lake for many years to come.
While the lake will serve a multitude of useful purposes, such as flood control and aesthetics, various recreational activities, such as boating and fishing, will also flourish. While these mixed uses are compatible, stringent measures must be taken to allow for their impact on aesthetics, water quality and the fishery.
