Cy-Falls Staff Build Habitat House

Serving as Habitat for Humanity volunteers, several staff members of Cypress Falls High School recently helped to build homes in a Northwest Houston Community.

Becky Denton, local Cypress Falls principal, contacted Habitat for Humanity in an effort to give her staff the opportunity to make a difference in their community. And, their response was great!

The Cy Fair ISD (CFISD) school district has achieved the honorable “Recognized” status buy the state of Texas for the third year in a row, according to the Texas Education Agency (TEA). This is a great student and faculty achievement for the whole Towne Lake area, as CFISD is the largest “Recognized” school district in Texas. CFISD has, in the past, held the “Recognized” honor for as many as six consecutive years…a great record in Texas!

The award of “Recognized” status is based on results of the annual TAKS test, where last year every CFISD school but one improved their scores from the previous year. Overall, CFISD students achieved over 90% in reading, writing, and social studies, and nearly 90% in math and science, as well.
