Cypress Lakes High School is honored to have one of their own junior students, Cassandra Banda, selected by the Center for Hearing to participate in the Via Colori Street Painting Festival from November 20th through 21st – an event that will transform the streets of downtown Houston into an unconventional art gallery.
Cassandra Banda will be joined by 13 other fellow artists from other Houston area high schools in the Via Apprendista’s section, where they will create a 6 foot by 6 foot street art mural for the festival.
Via Colori was first brought to Houston in 2006 to celebrate the Italian Renaissance art of street painting while benefiting CHS, a non profit organization that teaches children with hearing impairments speaking and listening literacy skills.
This event will take place on Saturday November 20th from 10 am to 6 pm and on Sunday November 21st from 10 am to 5 pm in downtown Houston at Sam Houston Park and the streets of Allen Parkway and Bagby.
There is no cost to attend and it is open to everyone!
